Day... 3? Of the Dumblr Downfall
Dec. 6th, 2018 03:52 pmThings are looking grim in the mass exodus of tumblr. What used to be a great haven for those who needed a place to come together in their time of need for friends around the world to learning cultural differences to youth coming of age and discovering the LGBTQ+ community to an explosion of artistic creation, tumblr once was a place that welcomed the freaks and geeks. We all laughed about it. We all made the same jokes. "God damn this shit site". But the truth was, and remains, there's no place like home.
Many of us, myself included, have been through things like this before. Whether it was Livejournal or Myspace or Yahoo, it's happened, yes. We've lived through it, we've dealt with it. But I'm tired. I don't want to do this again. And, to be honest, I've never connected with people the way I have with people on tumblr. I don't want it to go anywhere.
But, fuck, did they screw the pooch on this one. I don't know what's going to happen. Maybe they'll fix it, but I doubt it. My blog has been flag as explicit. By the seventeenth what took several years to create might all be gone. So. I don't know.
I suppose we'll see what happens.
